Liam Scales says Adam Idah’s return to Celtic would be welcomed by the players as Celtic looking to sign the striker on a permanent deal.

Idah was valuable player for the champions after joining the team on loan from Norwich City for the second half of the previous season, where he scored important goals as the team clinched the Premiership title and netting the winner goal in the Scottish Cup final.

Recently Celtic Manager Brendan Rodgers has been keen to seal the deal and keen to see Idah return to the club but according to other source Norwich they rejected a bid earlier this week. While Scales admits the players have no say in transfer signing, he made it clear that Idah would be welcomed as the team’s latest recruit.

Scales said ” We would love to have him back, he’s a great lad. He’s obviously a brilliant player but to have him in the changing room as well is brilliant. He is a good guy and he’s funny and we all got on well with him. He was massive for us. He scored massive goals and put in massive performances. We would love him back but obviously it’s out of our control. Hopefully it happens.”

The defender believes that the Republic of Ireland international have unique playing style compares to Kyogo Furuhashi and says his colleague appreciate the qualities he can bring to the team.

Scales said ” He’s obviously different to kyogo, Kyogo is an amazing, brilliant player but Adam’s got more physicality. Kyogo is better playing off people’s shoulders and has scored many goals doing that but Adam gives you that sort of option where you can hit his feet and he can hold off the big Scottish defenders that he’s playing against.”

” It’s a great outlet for central halves like me, or central midfielders that they can play into him and then get the creative players playing off him as well. That’s probably a strength that he brings despite the goals that he scores.”
