FIFA PRESIDENT PRAISES RWANDA PRESIDENT FOR BACKING UP SPORTS
1 min readWorld football governing body [FIFA] President Gianni Infantino failed to hold his excitement congratulating President Paul Kagame for showing love towards his country, particularly in football development.
Infantino commented an hour later after Kagame officially introduced refurbished Amahoro Stadium on Monday, July 1 in a colourful event graced by CAF President Patrice Motsepe. The upgraded stadium now hold the capacity of 45 508 up from the previous capacity of 25 000, after undergoing extensive renovation since mid-2022. Infantino said ” My congratulation to my dear brother and president of Rwanda, Paul Kagame on the inauguration of Amohoro stadium in Kigali. This is a momentous which will drive further growth of football in this beautiful country,”
Kagame received the presise and responded to FIFA President and CAF President
Kagame said ” They have supported Rwanda and other African countries in elevating the standards of African football. At such venues, African children can train and showcase the great talent we have on our continent.” The government invested a whopping Rwf 160 billion on the renovation of Amahoro Stadium and Stadium is approved by FIFA.
