Former Ajax Cape Town midfielder explained his move to second tier
1 min readThe former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder George Maluleka ‘Mido’ revealed why he decided to join Motsepe Foundation championship side.
Maluleke was announced by Kruger United as their new player after being released by Amazulu FC at the end of 2023/2024 campaign. At the age of 35 Mido gained experience from different club levels such as Supersport United, Chiefs and Sundowns.
During his speech on the club website Maluleke highlighted the importance of leadership and teamwork.
He said “First and foremost, it’s important for me to just be a good person, beyond the experience I bring.
“Inspiration is key, but contributing to the team and helping the younger players understand the game better is crucial. I’m here to give them that little push and encouragement they need.”
He went on to emphasize that he just hope and wish that other players from Kruger United might learn one or two things from him.
Maluleke said “Togetherness is what I’m really focused on, and I want to show them that what they’re aiming for is possible. I was once in their shoes, a young boy with dreams of advancing my career, and now I’m here to guide them.”
His signing will not benefit the club in terms of producing good results only but he will help club to have a good structure and produce good players.
