Former Chiefs winger says he appreciate the opportunity given to him
2 min readThe former Kaizer Chiefs winger ‘10111’ Arthur Zwane revealed how excited he is after being tasked with a role at junior ranks. Zwane was sucked from his position as head coach in 2022/2023 campaign after failing to help the club to end it’s trophy drought.
Last season it was reported that Zwane was working with the development team but in the recent Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr recently clarified the former winger’s duties within the junior ranks.
During the fixture between Chiefs legend vs AmaZulu legend(Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi Legacy Cup) over the weekend Zwane was asked about his new role at the club.
He promised to deliver the good results from his task and he also emphasized that he is happy for another chance.
Zwane said “For me to be given by a big club like Kaizer Chiefs, it’s a huge responsibility, it doesn’t matter in which capacity.
“The fact is that you are a part of Kaizer Chiefs, you are expected at the highest level at your utmost best. So, the passion is there, I’m a football person, it’s in me.
“To me, it doesn’t matter whether I’m in the first team or the development, as long as I do what I love. A lot of people are working and doing work they don’t want.
“So, for I’m blessed by God and my ancestors and I appreciate it. That’s why I’m encouraging people to know where you come from because it’s important.
“Before you can conquer the world, you have to pray and do everything so all can go well.”
During his first stint with Kaizer Chiefs DDC team ‘Mangethe’ developed players such as Njabulo Blom, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Sabelo Radebe and Bruce Bavuma who are currently playing for first team contract.
Zwane also worked with Steward Baxter as his assistant coach and worked with Molefi Ntsiki as assistant coach before becoming head coach as well as Gavin Hunt.
