Mandla Masango who played for Kaizer Chiefs under Steward Baxter is impressed by the playing style of Orlando Pirates young star. The young star made his professional debut in Pirates color back in 2022/2023 season.

Mofokeng went on to put his name on the map after he made his debut in June against Zimbabwe during the 2026 World Cup.

On Friday the teenage sensational was futured against Uganda at Orlando Stadium when they were trailing by 2-1.

He made an impact as Bafana eventually found an equaliser through his Pirates teammate Thalente Mbatha.

Masango hopes that the young talent star will ship out of the Buccaneers at the end of season to play abroad.

Masango said “I think the sky is the limit for Rele, I like the fact that he’s very humble and he gets down to business.

“His game has improved in terms of stats. If you can check the games he plays, he assists, he scores and every time he has the ball, you can see there’s something that might happen.

“So, I wish him all the best. Hence, I said last time that he should have been in the Bafana’s AFCON squad.

“But here he is and he’s proving himself. I hope this is his last season locally and he goes overseas.”

Masango went on to encourage the young star to be around the clubhouse instead of seeking his own space.

He said “I think the reason why he’s grounded is because he comes from the football background.

“His father used to play before, so that’s one thing that will make him stay grounded but also his hard work.

“And I hear that he still lives in the club house. So, that’s on its own indicates that he wants to succeed.

“If he can stick to that and put us in the map. I feel he’s gonna be one of the best if not the best in the country.”

Mofokeng is currently with Bafana Bafana squad that have traveled to South Suadan for AFCON Qualifier.
