Lazio coach want his player to put extra effort
2 min readHead coach of Lazio Marco Baroni, want improvement from Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Ayodele-Bashiru, to pull up his socks during his loan spell at the club.
The 23-year-old is signed on loan in this summer transfer window from Turkey’s side Hatayspor and already played his first match and played ninety minutes in Lazio’s 3-1 victory over Venezia in their Serie A opener.
His movement on and off the ball were praised by many, such as his head coach, but the coach feels like the Nigerian star didn’t unlock his skills and must combine with the team while urging him to improve his game management.
Barconi said “Dele-Bashiru has great potential. He is a lad who must understand our football and to do so he must train and play. We will give him the opportunity to do so. We also have other good midfielders who are improving.
“The attitude was important. He has to improve his posture, he is often closed by the opposition who doesn’t give him the chance to drive forward.
“But when he opens his shoulder, he is devastating. He has to become a ball-winner, but it’s not easy. It’s a complete upheaval, but he made an extraordinary contribution.”
Dele-Bashiru decided to part ways with Sheffield Wednesday in about a year ago after registering twelve appearance in EFL Championship then signed with Hatayspor and his market value have been on the rise ever since.
Lazio over the weekend they will be traveling to Bluenergy Stadium where they will be facing Udinese in Seria A fixture.
