Mamelodi Sundowns defender shared his thought about debut
2 min readFormer Sekhukhune United defender Asekho Tiwani had impressive game over the weekend during CAF Champions League against Eswatin side.
Mamelodi born sensational was a live wire for the ‘Brazilan’ as he managed to won penalty for the home side that gave them a lead against Mbabane Swallows.
Sundowns went on to score another three(3) goals and won the match by a score line of 4-0 at Attredgeville Stadium (Masterpieces Moripe).
Previous campaign Tiwani managed to play a total number of 16 games with Limpopo’s side Babina noko where he scored three (3) goals and provided two(2) assist.
After the match, the new left-back of Bafana ba Style cherished the moment and shared that he still needs to improve.
Tiwani said “First and foremost, I would like to give praise to God for the talent. Many thanks to the technical team for the belief and opportunity they gave me.
“It is an honour to make my debut on the biggest stage, such as the CAF Champions League. I’m grateful for being part of the club’s big win against Mbabane Swallows.
“There are many things that I still need to improve on. However, I’m happy with my performance as an individual and also as a team. I trust that coaches will assist me to improve with what I lack.”
Tiwani went on to emphasize that they wanted to honour the supporters who managed to make it to the stadium.
He said “It takes a lot of courage and commitment, discipline to be a great human being and not only representing ourselves but for the people that came in numbers today.
“So, we play for them, and most importantly, we play for the badge. So, we have a responsibility to represent the badge in the best possible way.”
Mamelodi Sundowns will switch their focus from CAF Champions League to Betway Premiership where they will be facing Supersport United on Tuesday.
Supersport United will be heading into this fixture without their head coach Gavin Huant who received red card in previous campaign.
