Man City and Belgium captain blames his team mate for defeat
2 min readYesterday Belgium dealt a huge blow as they were defeated 2-0 by France during the UEFA Nations League. After the match captain of the ship Kevin De Bruyne revealed that a lot has happened during the game.
De Bruyne said “I can’t say here what went wrong. I already did that to the team at half-time.
“I cannot repeat that in the media, but it has to be better in every way. If the standard we want to reach is the best, but we’re no longer good enough to get to that level, then you have to give everything. If you don’t even do that, it’s over.”
It is not the first time Belgium lose against France, even in the round of 16 of the European Championship (that was held in Germany) this summer they lost 1-0.
The Belgium captain also compared the campaign they had back in 2018 during the World Cup in Russia where they reached the Semifinals.
De Bruyne said “I can accept that we’re not as good as in 2018, I was the first to see that, but other things are unacceptable. I’m not going to say what.”
After being consistently asked about the difficult matter within the team, then the Man City captain revealed the problem.
De Bruyne said “We are too many at the back. If you stay with six at the back, there is no connection. It is what it is. It is not about transition, but about people who do not perform their tasks.”
Belgium have played two games soo far and they have collected three(3) points while scoring three goals and Conceding three goals.
