Motorbike racer passed away after horror accident
2 min readAccording to the Media publication Mirror the 43 year old Louis O’Regan passed away after crashing his bike at the Kate’s Cottage corner in qualifying for the Manx Grand Prix in the Isle of Man.
Motorcyclist Louis O’Regan has tragically lost his life after crashing his bike during qualifying for the Manx Grand Prix.
O’Regan had experience for racing and he made his debut in 2013. He was involved in accident at the Kate’s Cottage corner, which is 34 miles into the 37-mile circuit, and died as a result of the injuries he suffered in the crash.
The event didn’t continued and the race is set to resume on Monday. The organizers of the event paid tribute to O’Regan in a statement and offered their “heartfelt condolences” to his family.
They wrote “With great sadness, the organisers of the Manx Grand Prix can confirm that Louis O’Regan, 43, has died following injuries sustained in an accident at Kate’s Cottage during the opening qualifying session of the 2024 event.”
“Louis, an Irishman who lived in Didcot, England, was an experienced competitor at the Manx Grand Prix having made his debut in the 2013 as a Newcomer and finished on 12th. He had his best lap race in the 2019 Junior Race while clocking a speed of 114.7mph.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to Louis’s partner Sarah, his family, loved ones, and friends.”
Even the last Manx Grand Prix, claimed the lives of two riders who tragically died after they were involved in separate crashes.
Gary Vines who was 33 year old passed away after failing to control his bike at Ballagarey Corner, while Ian Bainbridge who was 69 also lost his life after crashing into a garden wall at Kirk Michael. The organizers honored the death of two racers.
