Pirates coach happy with three points
2 min readOrlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro was happy with the results but was concerned with how his players conducted themselves through out the match.
Orlando Pirates managed to collect full points against Chippa United yesterday at Orlando Stadium.
Even though they managed to collect three points their first half performance was soo questionable as they failed to convert their chances.
But towards halftime the Buccaneers managed to redeem themselves from a penalty kick that was converted by Tshegofatso Mabasa.
Orlando Pirates are one of the two teams that have played more games compared to the other fourteen clubs.
After the match head coach highlighted that it was not easy to face Chippa United and they must also rectify their mistakes going into the next fixture.
Reivero said “Important points, good to start with a victory. One year ago we started with zero, today with three.
“Chippa is a complicated team because they are big boys, very physical, it’s difficult to contain them. But we managed to come back in the second-half, I think we played good football in some moments.
“We created more than enough chances but in a rush, coming from behind is not a good thing. It’s not a habit that we want to create. We want to start games better and be ourselves, getting the advantage and not like today.”
Reviero together with his troops will have to switch their focus on Jwaneng Galaxy for CAF Champions League on Saturday(21st September) at Orlando Stadium.
Pirates heading into the second leg with a comfortable lead of 2-0 goals against Jwaneng Galaxy.
