Elena Rybakina didn’t have enough time on the tennis courts lately due to injuries and she will miss out on the 2024 China Open in Beijing, either.

It’s been a rough weeks for Rybakina, who hasn’t played much tennis lately. The last time she partakes in tennis it was back at US Open, even though it was only a relatively short stay there as she played one match before withdrawing from the event.

The last time she was part of the major tournament was back at Wimbledon where she reached the semi-finals and lost to Barbora Krejcikova.

Since then she has never had a steller performance again as she was wrecked by injuries and they are rumors suggesting that she might parted ways with her coach Stefano Vukov.

What is holding her back this year is a back injury, which has troubled her for a while. She released a statement with WTA explaining why she won’t be part of the major tournament.

Rybakina said “Due to an ongoing back injury, I regretfully have to withdraw from the upcoming Asian tournaments. While I’ve been working hard on my recovery, my medical team and I have decided it’s best to prioritize my health at this time.

“This has been a challenging year and I am grateful for the support from the tournament organizers and all of my fans. My team and I will work on getting me back on the court before the season finale.”

Rybakina is not the only tennis player who experience such a trauma of back pain, the other player is experiencing the same problem is Paula Badosa.
