SA minister of sports, Arts and Culture has forgiven Renaldo Gouws
3 min readThe former Democratic Alliance (DA) Renaldo Gouws decided to seek for a peace between himself and the Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie.
DA member was hash and racist towards the minister for what he did in the past (committing crime).
Gouws took his time and apologized through his tweeter account, for previously using vologur words such “K-word” and “N-word”.
After his video making trends online the former MP was investigated by his party and later on he was dismissed from his position.
On his video he posted yesterday (Wednesday 18th September), the former MP revealed that some people misinterpreted his statement.
Gouws said “judging you on the man you used to be many years ago. I see how I was no different to how people and the mainstream media handled something I did and said and how they took it out of context to fit their narratives.
“I’m man enough to admit how childish I was and couldn’t see past my nose. I know I briefly served in parliament, but there is no doubt that you are one of the top-performing Ministers in the short time you have been in that position.”
He even shared how proud he is about the work ethic of Gayton McKenzie and encouraged him to keep up the good work.
Gouws said “Kudos to you. Keep up the passionate work.”
Then McKenzie didn’t take too long to respond to Mr Gouws and encouraged him to stay positive and never give up.
McKenzie said “Thanks a lot. This too shall pass, Be strong, learn, reflect deeply, and bounce back soon.”
It’s not first time when McKenzie being attacked by other members of the parliament, recently EFF leader attacked him labeled him ‘Jailbird’.
Malema said “I want to make it clear: I don’t mind you calling me a pantiti, but I want to make you aware of one thing. Here in the Western Cape, my name was on the ballot as Gayton McKenzie, and your name was on the ballot as EFF. People looked at both, but they decided to vote for me.”
McKenzie didn’t set back and allow Malema to disrespect him as he responded back to the statement made by Economic Freedom Fighters president.
He said “You can call me by all sorts name but I don’t mind people calling me ‘jailbird’ at all.”
Even before Malema incident he was attacked by BOSA leader Mmusi Maimane who said “City of Johannesburg can’t be run by criminal. That is like allowing alcohol to run Tops.”
McKenzie responded by saying “Usually, I would mind such a comment, but coming from a pastor makes me feel sorry for the people with who you share the word of God with.
“You are basically saying that the blood of Christ has no power to change my life. It’s lost its power.”
The former DA president Mmusi Maimane later on he wrote on his social media page to Apologize on what he mentioned.
He said “I respect Mr McKenzie and the work he has done post-serving time. I spoke out of anger on behalf of the residents due to the musical chairs of mayors.
“We serve the same Jesus, who believes the best of us in redemption.”
McKenzie since he took over for the position of minister he managed to bring changes for the sports fritinity.
He managed to scoop a deal for SABC to broadcast all Springboks games and also managed to bring sports back into the schools.
