Supersport United midfielder reveals why he came back home
2 min readSuperSport United midfielder Keanin Ayer explained his two reasons that forced him to return back in South Africa after spending his time abroad. During the current transfer window Matsatsantsa a petiro have rain forced their squad by bringing in new faces such as club’s product Ayer.
Keanin Ayer at Europe managed to represent three clubs such as Varbergs BoIS, Sandefjord, and Naestved BK. Ayer revealed that one of the reasons why he opted to return back home, is because of he want to represent the national team one day.
He said “First of all, I wanted to come back home because it’s been way too long since I had the family around me.
“And you know in terms of you having your loved ones. I should stay alone everyone in every team I’ve been to in Europe.
“You enjoy in the training ground with teammates but when you get home, you’re alone.
“Sometimes, that’s not good for the head, and you want to be clear in the head so you can perform well and play at your best.
“But basically in simple terms, I missed home and wanted to come back. It was like a personal decision.”
Ayer also highlighted that if opportunity present itself, he won’t think twice about it. He also emphasized that he must focus on his job.
Ayer said “Definitely, I know the time will come and I can go back and it’s also in my agent’s plan for me, maybe in two seasons to go back.
“But then my head should be in a better space.”
Supersport United midfielder also shared that he hopes he will impress the national coach and eventually get a break through.
Ayer said “Mostly, it’s players from this side [who get call-ups], so I don’t know maybe they are doing well.
“But for me, that’s why I came back. If I’m doing well, I might get a chance.”
Ayer will be hoping to make his senior debut when his club will be up against their arch rivals Mamelodi Sundowns on Tuesday for Betway Premiership fixture.
