The Citizens handed young star long term contract
1 min readJohn Comitis has decided to offer one of their graduate sensational player Gabriel Amato a contract that will keep him on the club for a long period.
The 18-year-old has been promoted from junior rank at the club and has been afforded opportunity by Eric Tinkler to train with the first team during the pre-seasons.
Cape Town City posted on their X page to confirm that the young star has penned a long-term contract.
Amato joins senior team with experience he gained at South African national team at the Under-17 level and has made four appearances for SA at the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations 2023.
The attacking midfielder could make his debut when City challenges KZN’s side Royal AM at Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday for the opening of Betway Premiership.
After penning the long term contract with Cape Town City Amato revealed that he want to be part of the change that team is seeking for.
He said “I’m really looking forward to the journey ahead with this club. Staying here was a no-brainer, I believe in what the club is building, and I’m happy to be a part of it for longer.”
