Previous season Erik Ten Hag had a disaster campaign after they finished on the 8th position and their opening campaign for 2024/2025 Manchester United will holst Fulham.

United coach underline that his side ‘want to go for trophies’ this season, as the Dutchman aim to win more trophies to add to what he has already won in his two years stay at Old Trafford.

Previous campaign Ten Hag and his troops managed to reward their herichary with two trophies and one of them is FA Cup that secured them spot at EUFA Europe Champions League qualification.

United camp last season was wracked up by a lot of injuries that resulted into the poor performance of the club.

New Herichary of United made some new signing to make sure that the team doesn’t experience the same trauma as last season. And the injured players are back and fit to help the club to regain it’s dignity.

The signing of De Ligt will allow the coach to have more options at the back line while Mazraoui might play at his natural position right-back or might cover for the injured Luke Shaw at left-back.

The other options for Erik Ten Hag at Manchester United’s center back are Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelöf, Jonny Evans and Lisandro Martinez.

Ten Hag confirmed that centre-back Harry Maguire is fit and ready for the squad selection that will face Fulham.

Some of the fans were worried after the defender sustained injury during their game against their arch rivals Manchester City during the Community Shield where they lost via penalty shoot-out.

Ten Hag went on to provide the update regarding his trusted left back Luke Shaw who according to team doctors revealed that he will be back on the field in January 2025.

Ten Hag said “He will return in the short term, it doesn’t take long.”

He also provided the feedback about Mazraoui who will have to fill the void that is left by Aaron Wan-Bissaka who signed with West Ham earlier this week.

Ten Hag said: “one of his key attributes is it’s difficult to put him under pressure, he often finds solutions”.

Mazraoui is expected to provide challenge on the right back where he will be competing with Diogo Dalot and he will also add depth on the wing back of club.

He continued saying “We can sort problems on the left side (of defence) with, for instance, Licha Martinez, with Diogo Dalot, he is capable of playing there. With Mazraoui, we have an additional one who can fill in that position as long as Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are not available.”

Ten Hag side was also affected in the scoring area after the injury of Rashford and that left Rasmus Højlund under pressure as he was the only available goalscore.

He said “We know we create many chances, its about composure and being more clinical in both boxes, that will be an attention point for us. There we have to improve.

“Last week against City, against Liverpool (in pre-season), we created so many chances but we have to take them. We have players with scoring abilities in the team.”

Luke Shaw last season managed to play 12 games across all the competition and Red Devil coach admitted that they miss his service too much.

He said “He is massively important so we want to get him back as soon as possible, but we can’t force this process.”

He also emphasized that they should build a strong team that will challenge for all major trophies.

Ten Hag said “We are complete and now working together for, let’s say, 10 days, and always it will take a while. But more teams will have this problem.

“We will not (be) 100 per cent, 100 per cent form. But we have to go from game to game to improve, to get higher performance levels in the team and individual players, and we see how quick we can go into this process.”
