Two African teams will compete for Bronze Medal in Paris24

Morocco and Egypt will compete for a third spot in the Paris24 Olympics after their defeat yesterday.

On Monday evening the two African teams dealt a huge blow as they bowed down at Paris24 after their shock defeat to Spain and France respectively.

Morocco played in the first semi-finals against Spain where they managed to hold their ground as they went into the half time, leading their opponents by just a single goal thanks to Soufaine Rahimi.

In the second half, Spanish side showed their strong character as they managed to come back and won the game by 2-1 in the last minutes of the games booking their space in the final.

The second semi-final of the day was between the host of Olympic France, up against AFCON record holder Egypt.

The Pharaoh’s was the first team to break the deadlock through Mohmoud Saber and Thierry Henry together with his troops fighting back to get the equaliser which forced the game into the extra time.

It became a disaster for Egypt after their star player Omar Fayed received a marching order, leaving the Pharaohs with ten man just two minutes into the extra time.

The host became ruthless as they managed to score two goals in extra-time, that handed them a victory win of 3-1.

Egypt and Morocco will be contesting for a third spot and a bronze medal on Thursday 8 August, kickoff will be at 17:00 local time.

While France and Spain will be contesting for a first spot and a Gold medal on Friday 9 August and kickoff will be at 18:00.
