Ulinzi Starlets coach has passed away
1 min readHead coach of Ulinzi Starlets Joseph Mwanza death has left community and many people in disbelief.
His death was confirmed early on today (Friday) and people are paying tributes across the Kenya to honor the young tactician who brought changes into women’s football in Kenya.
Mwanza started coaching Unlizi Starlets back in 2018, side that participate in Football Kenya Federation Women’s Premier League.
He always remembered by many for his perseverance, personality and the change he implemented into the women’s football.
Football Kenya Federation realesed a statement that confirms the death of Mwanza and paid tribute to his family and friends.
They wrote “We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Ulinzi Starlets Head Coach, Joseph Wambua Mwanza. His dedication and passion for women’s football in Kenya will be greatly missed.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and the entire Ulinzi Starlets team and the Ulinzi Football fraternity during this difficult time.”
Mwanza started his coaching career back in 2016 after retiring from football due to the Injury he sustained.
Sustaining a double fracture in his right knee, Mwanza was forced to hang up his boots. But due to his love for the game, he didn’t give up. Instead, he opted for coaching role that saw him excell in Kenyan football stage.
