SILOAM LOAN SHARK APPEARED IN COURT

Vigil Fhatuwani Siphoro (54) appeared in the Dzanani Magistrate’s court on Wednesday, 09 March 2022 following his arrest by the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation members on Tuesday, 08 March 2022.
The Hawks received numerous complaints from the community about a loan shark who was allegedly in possession of SASSA beneficiary cards kept at his house in Siloam, outside Makhado.
The search warrant was issued and executed during a sting operation between the Hawks and National Credit Regulators on 08 March 2022.
Captain Matimba Maluleke says during the search at his house, 49 loan agreements, 7 bank cards, 2 SASSA beneficiary cards, 1 Identity Card, 1 laptop and a Nupay speedpoint were seized and he was subsequently placed under arrest for contravention of the National Credit Act 34 of 2005.
Furthermore Siphoro was released on warning and his case was postponed to 12 May 2022 for further Investigation.
