THEFT CASE AGAINST SCCU ADVOCATE NEVELLING IS SET FOR TRIAL.

The former Head of the Specialized Commercial Crimes Unit (SCCU)in North West Adv. Jeanette Nevelling (54), alleged she stole clothing and food items at crossing shop mall in Mmabatho valued at approximately R3000, and she was granted R500 bail.

NPA Regional Spokesperson Henry Mamothame says two of the state witnesses who are employees of the retail store, where the alleged crime happened have completed giving testimony.
He says the state is expected to call more witnesses, when the matter resumes in September 2022.

Adv. Mashudu Mudau, from the Limpopo Division of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), representing the state, expressed his satisfaction with how proceedings are going, as he believes the matter will be completed speedily.

Adv. Nevelling has since resigned, and effectively ceased being an NPA employee as of 30 October 2021.

The Molopo Magistrates’ Court postponed the trial to 06-07 September 2022.
