Reason why Richard Hughes is ‘angry’ with Martin Zubimendi has been revealed

The midfielder has rejected the Reds’ transfer plans as he’s opted to stay in La Liga for one more season.

The Reds looked to be finalizing a deal with Zubimendi but now, the Merseyside club have failedto land their target.

Liverpool have three weeks left on the transfer window market and are yet to make a signing and as things stand, Richard Hughes isn’t having the best of starts to life as the club’s Sporting Director.

According to The Mail Liverpool Sporting Director he’s far from happy with how a deal with Zubimendi has played out.

Sporting Director is unhappy with the midfielder decision because he felt like Zubimendi had given his word that he will join Liverpool.

Unfortunately for the Reds, Zubimendi has changed his original promise and he’s now set to stay in Spain for another year.

Reds are still un-sorted in that number six positions and while players such as Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister are capable of playing in that position, the Reds need a master in that position if they want to challenge for a league title.

Zubimendi signing would’ve been perfect for number six, but unfortunately, Liverpool had to give up in their pursuit of the midfielder.

Hughes’ first transfer window as Liverpool’s Sporting Director is not going according to plans but he still has plenty of time to make some marquee signings.
