AN ALLEGED KILLER OF A 4-YEAR-OLD GIRL ABANDONED HIS BAIL APPLICATION.

The Benoni Magistrates’ Court has abandoned a bail of an alleged killer, Ntokozo Khulekani Zikhali (28) from Brakpan on Monday, 14 November 2022.
This comes after a 4-year-old girl, Bokgabo Poo was reported missing on the 10 October 2022 and a part of her body found in a yard of one of the neighbours after a day of a missing report. Upon investigation, a discovered CCTV footage from a nearby tavern showed the deceased walking with Zikhali on the day of her disappearance.
It is alleged that on the day, the girl had gone to play with a 5-year-old boy at a park in Wattville, Benoni, when they were approached by Zikhali. The accused gave the little boy money to go buy lollipops and lured the deceased to an unknown location.
NPA Regional Spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana says prior the incident, Zikhali was out on bail on another matter, where he is facing a charge of raping a 9-year-old girl. During the previous court appearance on 24 October 2022, the state informed the court of its intention to bring an application to the court to have Zikhali’s bail revoked, however, it was dismissed after he abandoned his application and since will be remanded in custody.
Zikhali is charged with kidnapping, rape, murder, and violation of the corpse. Furthermore, both matters were adjourned to 14 February 2023, for further investigations.
