Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta provides updates on Emile Smith Rowe’s future at the club, after the player failed to feature against Bournemouth during their pre-season where they played a draw of 1-1

The Gunners head coach has hinted that an Emil Smith Rowe’s exit is imminent amid reports linking him to Fulham. It was reported earlier today that Fulham are close to reaching an agreement for the attacking midfielder for a fee around £30million. The 23-year-old was not featured during Arsenal’s 1-1 with Bournemouth in Los Angels despite every outfield player having been substituted in the match.

After the match the Gunners head coach emphasized that they are some inside matters that are occurring within the club and they need to sort them out first. Arteta said ”Yeah there are things happening in the background at the moment. We decided the best thing to do was to keep him away from the game today.”

The Spanish coach who believes in young-stars, he used a squad that was dominated by fresh blood against Bournemouth and he was left in disbelieves after the good performance that was displayed by his players.

Arteta said ”Very pleased. We have a very different context today with so many young players – most of them making their debuts for us. Really pleased to see them, just looking at their faces and the energy and understanding that they were going to be involved was great.

”And I think the senior players had a good game. It was a really competitive match against Bournemouth as we expected. They are a little bit ahead of us in terms of the time that they had to prepare. Good competitive match, with a lot of things to take forward.”

The Gunners went to penalty shoot-out where they won the match by 5-4 and their next friendly matches are arranged as follows; on 28 July next week Monday they will face The Reds devil(Manchester United) then on 1st August they will face Liverpool and on 7th August they will be up against Bayern Leverkusen then on 11th August they will face Lyon for Emirates Cup Final.

Mikel Arteta and his troops will be hoping to challenge Manchester City for the English Premier League in the upcoming season and snitch the title away from the reigning champions, as they failed to secure the title last season where they fumbled in their last 5 games of the season.
