Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder maestro Ben10 as affectionally known, is alleged to have had completed medical tests at the club headquarters in Casablanca yesterday and will sign contract on the dotted line later today.

Bongani Zungu who played in Scotland for Rangers returned home to join Bafana ba Style where he spent a period of two years with Tshwane giants has left the club early in June after announcing on his social media that he won’t play for Sky is the Limit in the upcoming season.

Wydad Casablanca on Tuesday announced that they will be revealing six new players for the upcoming season and one of the players it is believed to be Bongani Zungu. Zungu and the head coach of Wydad Rulani Mokoena had a good working relationship since the midfielder joined Sundowns back in 2015/2016 season from Amataks(University of Pretoria). They continued working together after midfielder spent six years in Europe and they also keep on contacting/ communicating even when Rulani was still part of coach at Orlando Pirates.

Since Zungu rejoin Sundowns, he managed to play a total number of 13 league matches under the guidance of Rulani last season before ending his relationship with the undisputed reigning DSTV Premiership Champions.

Wydad Casablanca new head coach Rulani Mokoena revealed that he doesn’t have beef with a lanky midfielder also suggesting that if Zungu doesn’t find a new club he can just pick up the phone and calls him.

Mokoena said ”I love Bongs (Bongani Zungu), Bongs knows me, I know him. It’s easier when you know the coach, the player knowns you, There is a possibility of(Zungu joining Wydad AC). He knows, if he doesn’t find anything, he knows my number and he can always contact me. It’s not to say the door is open, the door is closed. But he is very special to me.”

Zungu was recently linked with a move to Naturena Village(Kaizer Chiefs) after part ways with Sundowns. It looks like Zungu was not putting Chiefs as his first choice after leaving Bafana ba Style in June. The Chloorkop might lose more players in the current transfer window as players such as Khuliso Mudau and Tebogo Mokoena have attracted teams from Europe.

Bongani Zungu was not the only player who escaped/exit at the club in this current transfer window, the likes of Thabiso Kutumela, Abubaker Nasir, Junior Mandieta, Brain Onyango, Gaston Serino just to name few have left the club.
