He says Sibusiso ran after Lucas after he snatched his phone, during the struggle Lucas stabbed him on the chest with a sharp object and fled the scene. Upon ambulance’s arrival they declared him dead on the scene.

In his victim impact statement Khwinana’s father says his family is not coping with the loss of their son, both emotionally and physically, as he now struggles to sleep and that his health and his wife’s has deteriorated since the passing of their son.

He furthermore says it is not easy for a father to bury his own son especially when he did not die of natural causes, but was killed unnecessarily because of greed.
