Richmond named Two Key players to face Collingwood

Richmond has announced two players Nick Vlastuin and Tim Taranto for their Sunday afternoon’s match-day against Collingwood(Pies) at the MCG.

Reliable defender Vlastuin will makes his way back to the line-up after a back complaint saw him miss just his second game of the season last weekend. While the important midfielder and 2023 Jack Dyer Medallist Taranto returns to the side, after being unavailable for Round 19 due to concussion.

On Thursday morning Senior coach Adem Yze announced that he will be happy if his two star players make a return back to the team before their weekend fixture.

Yze said “Tim bounced out (of concussion protocols) straight away and trained really well on Tuesday, Nick had a grumbly back for around a month. He’s one of our leaders who just kept pushing through for four weeks, and we needed to break the cycle.  He’s bounced out of that really well.”

The two inclusions will replace captain Toby Nankervis, who suffered a concussion last Saturday night against Port Adelaide, and Tyler Sonsie, who has been omitted. Meanwhile, Richmond have three emergency in the form of Jacob Bauer, Matt Coulthard and Tyler Sonsie. The talented tall star player Noah Balta will be marking his 100th AFL game on Sunday for Richmond.

The Tigers Senior head coach praised the improvement that made by Balta together with the leadership he portrays during the game.

Yze said “This season, he’s grown. His leadership’s grown, he’s moved into our performance group which is our emerging leaders, He’s just a quality contest player… We love having him around and we can’t wait to see what he can do this weekend.”

Yze commanded that it is important for the Tigers to finish the home and away season strongly.

Yze said “We want to play a brand of footy that can stand against a really good team, Last week was some quality footy interstate against a really good team for three quarters. We just want to maintain that.”

The clash at the ‘G kicks off at 1:10pm (AEST) and can be viewed live on Fox Footy and Kayo Sports.
