TWO CORRECTIONAL OFFICIALS ATTACKED WHILE ON DUTY.

The police and Prisons Civil Rights Union (POCRU) remains distraught over altercations that happened at Duduza in Ekurhuleni where two officials were brutally attacked and their firearm stolen on Tuesday, 12 July 2022.

POCRU Richard Mamabolo says one official passed away at the scene and the other one succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical attention at Pholosong Hospital.

Furthermore these officers will be laid to rest this coming Saturday,23 July 2022. The DCS management will ensure that when officers are deployed in centres and communities , they are adequately equipped to handle all sorts of confrontation they may face.
