Chiefs legend suggest that his former club must sign goal poacher in Africa

Neil Tovey advised Amakhosi to sent their scouts across the African continent to look for a best goal finisher ahead of the new campaign. In the previous season, chiefs experienced a lack of goal scoring as their current strikers find the back of the net on a lower average.

Tovey was curious and feels like the talent of Ashley Du Preez has not yet been unlocked since he joins the club from Stellenbosch two season ago. Tovey as known for his nickname ‘Mokoko’ was left very impressed by the way his former club managed to secure the service of Gaston Sirino but he thinks the club should reinforce their striking department.

Tovey said “Because I have been away, I haven’t known who they’ve dealt with to give an honest opinion, and I can only see a couple of matches into the season.

“I know they have signed Gaston Sirino, and I think he can do good work for them because they do need a playmaker to take a playmaker role on and play off a striker, you know.

“I can’t comment on if teams are not willing to work with Chiefs, but what I know is teams will always sell if the price is right. There won’t be any other complications. If the price is right, they will sell. I think Chiefs need to bolster their frontline.

“I think they need to go to Africa and look for a big striker so that the quick boy, Ashley Du Preez, could work off him, you know.”

Kaizer Chiefs is currently having the services of Ranga Chivaviro, Du Preez, Christian Saile, Wandile Duba as their strikers. The club has recently parted ways with the striker Jasond Gonzalez was on the loan at Amakhosi and he failed to register a single goal during his loan spell.

The club released other players such as Sfiso Hlanti, Seyathemba Sethebe, Kegan Dolly and Njabulo Ngcobo at the end of last season.
