Fixture between Pakistan vs Bangladesh has been postponed due to a Rain

Both teams are ranked below at the World Test Championship with Bangladesh occupying No. 7 while Pakistan retains No. 8, just one spot above the West Indies.

First day test out of Second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh it is been cancelled due to rain at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi today (Friday).

The heavy rain has been relentless since morning and disturbing the toss to take place for today’s fixture.

Bangladesh set the record of defeating their opponents Pakistan for the first time after they gained the Test status.

The 10-wicket defeat forced Pakistan to do few changes as they opted to exclude their ace bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi ahead of the second Test.

Head coach Jason Gillispie emphasized that ace bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi is understanding person and his absence will give him time to bond with his family.

Gillispie said “We had a good conversation with him and he fully understands we are looking at the best combination for this game and the last few weeks have been interesting for him with fatherhood and other things, this break will allow him to spend time with his family.

He went on to highlight that Shaheen is the player that they value in the squad and he must regain his best form.

He said “Shaheen is working with Azhar Mahmood to be more effective and the management certainly wants to see him at his very best as there is a lot of cricket coming up.

“Right now we feel we have all bases covered in our bowling attack.”

Shaheen played six Tests since July 2022 after his knee injury. He didn’t take part during the final Test against Australia at Sydney in January this year. Gillispie also confirmed that all rounder Aamer Jamal was still not fit to play for Pakistan.
