Bucs coach hopes they will progress to the next phase

Orlando Pirates played a goalless draw in the 1st leg of preliminary round against Disciples FC of Madagascar in Mauritania last week. The Buccaneers will be welcoming Disciples FC in the return leg of CAF preliminary round at Orlando Stadium.

During yesterday pre-match conference, Jose Riveiro emphasized the importance of taking their own opportunity as early as the start of the match.

Riveiro said “I wish, not [only] tomorrow but every game, it’s about finding our rhythm as soon as possible in the game, have a good beginning, and obviously it’s going to be key.

“I can tell you a pile of typical sentences in this type of scenario, but the truth is that we need to play close to our best performance one more time, and that’s what we’re looking for.

“The beginning of every game is going to be key, and respecting the opponent because, even though we dominated [in possession] and had a terrible [sic] amount of chances to score there, it was strange that the game finished 0-0.”

Orlando Pirates coach refused to comment on the possibility of them to get knocked out in preliminary round as last year they were knocked out by Botswana side Jwaneng Galaxy. He said “We are ready to make it possible that we go through to the next round, we are preparing ourselves to win the match – we don’t need to win it 10-0, we just need to win the game.

“We are a bunch of coaches and players extremely optimistic about every game. And tomorrow we’re going to try offer a good game to our fans and make sure we’re in the next round.”

On the CAF competition Orlando Pirates management to reach the final of champions league in 2013 and they also been runners-up in the Confederations Cup twice.
