Harmanpreet to captain Indian team ahead of Women’s T20 World Cup

The best batter Harmanpreet Kaur will be the captain of 15 Indian squad that has been announced on Tuesday for the Women’s T20 World Cup in the UAE from October 3.

Other best batter Yastika Bhatia and spin all rounder Shreyanka Patil are amongst other players included in the squad due to their fitness.

While Smriti Mandhana was also named as a vice captain during their T20’s Women’s World Cup.

The original venue for the event was supposed to be in Bangladesh but due to the on going strike from students then the ICC changed location.

India are paired on Group A along with Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka and they will be hoping to walk away with their maiden T20 World Cup trophy.

Here is India squad for Women’s T20 World Cup:

Harmanpreet Kaur (captain), Smriti Mandhana (vice-captain), Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh (wk), Yastika Bhatia (wk)*, Pooja Vastrakar, Arundhati Reddy, Renuka Singh Thakur, Dayalan Hemalatha, Asha Sobhana, Radha Yadav, Shreyanka Patil*, Sajana Sajeevan.
