Kevin Pietersen is surprised by the level of Pakistan Cricket

Over the weekend Pakistan welcomed Bangladesh in home-land for their test match as they preparing for their upcoming T20’s and ODI test. During their encounter there some surprises as the home-side selected most of all-pace attack and lost the match by 10 wicked.

It market their first loss against Asian side where they recorded a score of 448-6 in their first innings while they lost by 565. Amongst the best performers from home side was Mushfiqur Rahim who managed to score a total run of 191 from 341 balls.

Kevin Pietersen posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account where he criticised the performance of Pakistan.

He also questioned the level of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the quality of local players in general saying they were”tremendous” when he was still playing there (PSL), which leaves him shocked by the drop of play.

Pietersen wrote “What happened to cricket in Pakistan? When I played the PSL, the standard of that league was tremendous, the players had a very good work ethic and the youngsters on display were magic. What’s happening there?”

Pietersen played for franchise Quetta Gladiators between 2016 and 2018 and he registered 27 matches for the club. The former Pakistan player and PCB chair Ramiz Raja was also disappointed by the display that showed by the players.

Second and third final test between two nations will take place on August 30 in Rawalpindi.

The fixture were supposed to take place in Karachi but the stadium is still under the construction as they prepare for 2025 Champions Trophy.
