Sinner defeated Medvedev at quarter finals of US Open

Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev produced top notch performance during the 2024 US Open quarterfinals on Wednesday, 4 September.

Sinner managed to edge Medvedev by a set of 6-2, 1-6, 6-1, 6-4 to qualify for the semifinals in New York for the first time in his career.

Both players give it their all as the match was tight for both of them. Sinner served first and produced a powerful shot that gave him lead 1-0 up on the back of seven winners and two break points.

During the second set the Italian tennis player Medvedev managed to reach 5-0 lead in no time before drawing the proceedings. After switching the position in a third set then Sinner managed to take control of the play as he also reached 5-0 lead.

On the Fourth set that was a crucial decider for the both of the players, tennis world no.1 defeated the 2021 US Open champion with a solitary break.
