Spanish Referee will officiate Egyptian Premier League on Friday Night

The Critical Egyptian Premier League match between Al-Ahly and Pyramids FC on Friday night will be officiated by Javier Rojas.

Rojas will be the man in middle and he will be working with Alfredo Rodriguez and Rodriguez Moreno as his assistant, while the fourth official will be Victor Garcia. Isidro Diaz de Mera will be operating as a Video Assistance Referee and he will be working hand to hand with Mateo Busquets as his assistant.

The clash between the two clubs will take place at Cairo Stadium and it will be shaping up for the title pursuit, Pyramids who have never won major trophy, are currently sitting at the summit of the table with a total of 68 points with a gap of 11 points over the second placed Al-Ahly who still have four matches in hand.

It will be the first time in this current campaign when this two clubs face each other, as their first round/leg were postponed due to their involvement in the African Inter-Competition. Where we saw Al-Ahly becoming the champions of Africa after defeating Esperance de Tunisia.

Pyramids manager Krunoslav Jurcic expressed his feelings after learning that their match against Egyptian giant Al-Ahly will be officiated by Spanish Referee and he stated that they are prepared and they won’t change how they have been playing when they face Red Eagles.

Jurcic said ” We are ready and in a good moment before Al-Ahly’s match. We have confidence and I am so optimistic ahead of the match. We have been playing excellent football and we will do the same against Al-Ahly. The pressure is on them, not us.”

Both teams are heading into this encounter with an amazing or good form, Pyramids have accumulated a total number of 14 consecutive matches and the Red Eagles chasing them with12 wins in a row. Al-Ahly coach Marcel Koller stressed out the importance of this encounter and stated that they should bring their A game in order to walk away with full three points.

Koller said ” It is gonna be a massive game. We need to do our best to win the match. We must defeat Pyramids if we want to win the League.”

Al-Ahly will play without their winger Hussein El-Shahat who is sentenced by the Nassr City Misdemeanor Court to a one-year suspended prison term and fined EGP 100,000 for slapping Pyramids FC right back Mohamed El-Chibi during a league game last year where they lost 3-0.
