Stellies youngstars believes his club is the best in terms of producing raw talent

Stellenbosch FC young talent Kyle Jurgens explained why he thinks the Maroons side is the best platform for any upcoming soccer star.

Stellenbosch Football Club have recently produced top players such as Jayden Adams who has attracted interest from local and international.

Other examples of the players who are produced by the Cape Winelands is Olwethu Makhanya who joined Philadelphia Union last year.

This year they have produced another star player Antonio Van Wyk, who is signed by the Australian side SV Ried.

Stellies have lost the service of Ashley Du Preez, Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Deano Van Rooyen, Zitha Kwinika, and Iqraam Rayners all of them signed by a big clubs in Gauteng.

Jurgens pointed out that Stellenbosch provides opportunity for young talents to shine, highlighting the club’s excellent facilities and how serious the club is regarding the development of its youth.

He went on to give Steve Barker credit for believing in the young stars and always encouraging them to push themselves to the limits.

Jurgens said “I think as a youngster, this is the best club to be at, You know the facilities that we have, the coaches, the staff, the players and all the people that come together that help to groom youngsters not just football wise but mentally as well.

“So, I think this is the best football club to be at because of coach Steve also giving youngsters an opportunity.

“You know it’s not easy trusting a youngster, so I just think it’s the best club to be at for a youngster.”

Jurgens signed a professional contract with the Stellies last year after having good campaign in the DStv Diski Challenge.

He was amongst the players that clinched the DDC 2021/22 campaign and 2022 Premier League Next Gen Cup trophies.
